1 - Check your latex does not have any residual dirt, dust or oils on its surface which can arise from previous wear or storage. This can be removed with a damp cloth prior to shining, however if there is a lot of dirt, it should be washed first.

2 - Follow the method on the bottle of your chosen shine to apply it to the garment - this may be directly using your hands and massaging it in, or using the attached spray nozzle which some shines are supplied with.

3 - Use a soft microfibre cloth to polish the latex, making sure to distribute the shine evenly for the most radiant glow. Be gentle and wary of any long nails as too much pressure or presence of sharp objects can damage the latex.

4 - If necessary, add a little more shine and buff the latex again to reach the level of shine desired.

1 - Select your cleaner. Make sure to use one formulated for latex, there are plenty of options. Many people have a preference for a tried and trusted cleaner, but there’s no harm trying a couple to see which one works best for you. Stay away from any abrasive or harsh chemicals because they can ruin the material.

2 - Following the directions on the product, dilute the cleaner in the necessary ratios, then begin to apply to the latex with a soft soft cloth or sponge. Rub this into the material, remembering to clean the inside, and being gentle, as too much pressure can damage the latex.

3 - Thoroughly rinse all the cleaner off the latex, using clean water.

4 - Hang the latex up to air dry before storing it, we recommend hanging it over a sink or bathtub to catch excess water.

5 - Once the latex is fully dry, apply a light dusting of protection powder and either hang or neatly fold away. The powder will prevent the latex sticking to itself during storage.

1 - Make sure your latex is kept in a cool dry place, away from any moisture, heat or damp, as these can all cause damage to the material, from warping to discoloration and mould.

2 - Avoid contact with oils and solvents, as these can eat away at the latex and cause damage. When putting on your latex, make sure to use a silicone based dressing aid if needed. Talcum powder can only do so much, but oil based lubricants should never be used.

3 - Many latex wearers like to store their latex on hangers, but you can also store it neatly folded. In each instance make sure it is dusted with powder to prevent it sticking to itself, and where possible put a barrier between colours in case of transfer, particularly with white or lighter colour latex.

4 - Clean your latex regularly to prevent buildup of dirt, sweat and bacteria.

5 - Keep latex away from sharp objects. Whilst sometimes this is inevitable if you have longer nails, or enjoy fetish play with spikes, be very careful when latex is in the vicinity of anything sharper. It is very easy to puncture, and once punctured it can split quite rapidly if it goes unnoticed, leading to either an unwearable garment or a sometimes large repair fee if you want it fixed.
